Using sustainable ingredients and a proprietary mixing process, our paints deliver best-in-class appearance and enhanced durability and are applied just like any conventional paint, using a brush, roller, or sprayer.

Customization is in our DNA. We offer unlimited color choices through our free color matching service, along with expert customer support to guide you through the ordering process. All ECOS products are made to order at our manufacturing facility in South Carolina and delivered directly to your door.

What our customers are saying...

"This is the best paint I have ever used, and I've tried almost all of the low VOC paints. The colors are beautiful, the coverage is perfect, and the paint goes on smoothly. I have horrible smell sensitivities, and this paint NEVER bothers me. This is the only paint I will be using from now on.”

WHAT IS DIFFERENT ABOUT ECOS PAINTS?

Our paints are water based, latex-free, and zero VOC2. Additionally, we do not add toxic solvents to our paints, which can be released in the indoor air. Safer for you, your family and the environment. We developed our formula thirty-five years ago with a unique recipe originally designed for people with multiple chemical sensitivities, asthma, allergies, and issues with everyday chemicals. Today our customers also include people who are focused on the environment and sustainability, healthcare providers, mothers concerned about their family’s health, and companies seeking to protect the health of their employees, guests and visitors.

Many ECOS Paints customers use our products to mask odors coming from walls, furniture, and fittings in their homes. These odors range from disagreeable smells, to off-gassing that leaves homeowners with headaches, causes illness, or results in them being unable to live in part or all their house. The sources of the odors include paint (old and new), drywall, particle board, man-made materials, and even some natural products like wood. In these cases, customers applied ECOS paint, or varnish over the offending surface to eliminate the smell. This simple encapsulation technique puts a barrier layer of the ECOS product on top of the problem substrate, helping to prevent the off gassing from entering the indoor environment.

Our interior wall, furniture, and floor paints are incredibly hard wearing and easy to apply. Because they are so durable, they are used, for example, as the yellow marking lines on railway platforms, and as floor coatings for industrial buildings. We use only the finest pigments from Europe, which enhance coverage and provide deep rich colors.

WHAT ARE VOCS?

Volatile organic compounds are gases that are emitted into the air from products such as paint and can include a variety of different chemicals. Zero VOC paint does not necessarily mean non-toxic, healthy, or safe. Also, the EPA1 allows paint to be called Zero VOC even if the VOC content in it is not actually zero. In addition, zero VOC paints can contain harmful chemicals, like highly toxic formaldehyde, which is not always required to be identified on the label. Finally, the Zero VOC certification may only refer to the base paint - not the color tint.

Most sources will tell you eco-friendly paints are those without VOCs. Some may mention eco-friendly paints don’t contain toxic biocides, fungicides, or other harmful chemicals. And, a few sources might even remember to mention that eco-friendly paints are often made using safer pigments. All these facts are true and that’s typically where eco-friendly paint brands stop. But, it’s just a fraction of our efforts to create the most environmentally friendly paint in the world.

At ECOS Paints, we create water-based products that are zero VOC1, with no toxic solvents such as Formaldehyde and Toluene. In addition, we use containers that incorporate recycled content. Our shipping boxes are also recyclable. We use recycled materials wherever possible and recycle whatever we can. We even recycle our processing water.
